Welcome message from the Principal

The current times of rapid change and seemingly never-ending change that we all face on a daily basis has a huge impact on the way we think, act, communicate and succeed. These changes will also seriously challenge us, and in the future determine how (and indeed if) our children and ourselves work, earn a living, and enjoy life to the fullest.

It is because of this competitive age that we all find ourselves in, that I strongly believe a broad and effective education for our children is so vital.

As you will read throughout this Website, we at Lyall Bay School attempt to provide a sound base in general skills, knowledge and attitudes, in a strict partnership between the home and school.

We place particular emphasis on literacy (reading, language programmes) and numeracy (mathematic programmes) and strongly promote National Curriculum principles.

Our Education Review Office reports over the past 10 years confirm that "Lyall Bay is an effective school", "the school provides a harmonious environment for learning", the curriculum is well planned and delivered, and "a range of sound teaching practices is evident throughout the school".
